Who is Héda Rose
Héda Rose was born in Brooklyn New York of Jamaican parentage; she entered the music business as a youth in 1993 performing in a musical theatre production, of “The Reluctant Dragon” at The Kennedy Center For Performing Arts. The production lasted for 7 months with an extended period of 10 shows.
She joined the R&B Girls Billboard Charted Group “Pure Soul”. They recorded and performed for over a period of 2 years. The group made appearances on Good Morning America, Soul Train, BET and VHI. They were well received by the American music fraternity and fans alike.
Héda participated in the 75th Anniversary Celebration for legendary singer Tony Bennett at the Metropolitan Museum; whose guest list included Harry Belafonte, Robert Dinero, Billy Joel and many other celebrity actors and recording artistes. This appearance landed her another vocal performance of the National Anthem at the New York Mets & the DC Nationals Game at the National Stadium.
Héda entered the NBC’s America’s Got Talent competition, performing at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City before celebrity judges Sharon Osbourne, David Hasselhoff, Piers Morgan and former host Nick Cannon. She placed in the semi-finals of the competition, and went on with a zest for perfecting her craft.
Rose has continued to develop her artistic practice through various activities, this includes Music Composition, Music Video Production, Documentary Film Production and other creative elements added to her repertoire.
Having a Jamaican heritage, Reggae Music kept calling, so Héda Rose entered the Reggae Industry in 2012, working with Reggae legend Sly Dunbar of the Sly & Robbie Fame. She also did recordings with Errol “Flabba” Holt, another iconic musician and the late Lincoln “Style” Scott of the legendary Roots Radics Band.
